The Whole Picture

Colors, shades, shadows,

seasons, elements, realms,

Those of the external and internal,

A process so layered from the core, to the peek of creativity, Captured in this imagery.

I once stood centered in one perspective, sleepy to the depths of its workings, yet awoken from the suffering of external self focusing.

As the body these cloths drape on, as this face that be painted, as this person that would move about, success rated on the perfect next pose, with each click taken.

There must be more to this?

to me, to these voices of self criticism or build-up of its opposite, vanity?

Who Am I, outside of this inanity?

Not only that but there must be more,

To the “beauty” that makes up this whole frame, not in vein.

Not just an object that gets projected and seen, through the eyes of whoever is seeing.

Must be a glamorous industry you hear screamed.

There must be more to This?

To them? To the ones that capture, to the ones that sow, to the ones that paint this face as if Donatello.

What are their stories, their history? why are they invested in making art, out of their unique vessel.

Where do we come from and not only that, where did these threads, this film, these color pallets of paint, this very ground I stand, originate?

There must be more to this?

Maybe it’s not about this surface level being, being seen or seeing,

yet in fact making and creating with what’s been Godly given.

Standing now in the shoes of all creation, embodying the colors, elements, realms,

These internal shades, shadows, seasons,

of Self, other, earth.

Here a garden of community, compatible collaboration.

Connected through a depth being,

allowing creativity to aligned with all of creation.

What’s taken is again given. What’s used is returned, what’s built in the moment can then again be washed away, making room for endless wealth (and beauty) for Mother Earth.

#sustainablefashion

These words that speak through these images, are inspired by my love for collaborating with eco conscious and sustainable local designers and artists.

Now I see and experience this process more broadly, as art.

My natural progression from viewing things from a narrow view (my small self) has developed into seeing ‘the whole picture’.

By applying my natural instincts of self inquiry to my 16 years of experience in the fashion industry, my depth of appreciation for all of the creatives, stories and processes behind what makes up these beautiful images continues to expand.

I encourage this simply ask yourself: When you perceive, in yourself, an item or an image, ‘What do i see?’

and then contemplate: There must be more to this?
